Merry Christmas!
Our last holiday with just the 3 of us is over. We have had a wonderful time together. Rob's been on vacation from his new job as a GM security consultant, and it's been great having him home for the past 10 days. He goes back to work tomorrow, and I'll be on my own to deal with being 39+ weeks pregnant and chasing a really busy (and fast) toddler around.
Hard to believe that I am still pregnant. With Marty, I was on bedrest at 35 weeks with pre-eclampsia and induced at 37. I had no idea what it was like to be this pregnant! Thankfully, I am not having the high blood pressure and extreme swelling that I had last time. But I do have this humungous belly, with a head hanging between my legs, for who knows how long! At last week's OB appointment, I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. I'm suprised that I haven't had the baby by now, but have accepted that I may go all the way to my due date, and beyond. We'll see how much progress my pre-labor pains have made at the next OB appointment this Thursday.
A few weeks ago, when I was only 8 months pregnant, we drove to Chicago to attend a family holiday party. Here's a shot of me and Marty at the hotel, sporting our hand knits:
